Ornitology - About Birds

The first ornithologists that made scientific research in Demir Kapija were: Streseman (1920), Doflein (1921) and Makach (1950). During the period 1980 – 1991 (more intense) and to 2002 (less intense) the ornithology site Demir Kapija was studied and presented (through studies, and in front of the general public) by the ornithologist Bratislav Grubach from Srbija. The past few years Demir Kapija intensively is monitored and – research is performed by the young ornithologist Dr. Metodija Velevski from the Macedonian Ecological Society.
The multi-monitoring and study of birds with the continuous comparison of data, gave excellent indicators of the changes and the trends in the nature.
